Just tracked down Primeval over here and was pleasantly surprised with how well it turned out.
Some nice conspiracy aspects in there and a good couple of 'scientific' end scares. Anybody else catch it?

Nope, New(ish) UK Sci-Fi Series.

"Primeval" is IMHO exactly what the Who spinoff "Torchwood" SHOULD have been like. Dinosaurs, guns, fit birds and a token geek (although I think they tried too hard to make sure the viewers realised he was a geek)

I saw a couple of episodes but it didn't really grab me. Seemed OK though.
As for Torchwood: I must admit I really liked it, despite its many flaws.

Managed to watch the first two episodes of the new season and it's holding together well and looks like it may be building a little more into it's back story - the addition of the Mystery Janitor could be amusing if it's pursued

Last ep was very good. Loved the conclusion of the mini story arc with the Leek conspiracy and the reveal at the end with the multiple ... no spoilers here ...
Can't wait for the next episode, whenever that should be. Series 3 I guess.
